Chapter 3 · The Other Mother

Summary

Bored and curious, Coraline unlocks a hidden door and enters a copy of her home. The button-eyed “other mother” and father offer delicious food and strange wonders, but singing rats and identical smiles make Coraline uneasy. She leaves to explore outside alone.

  2. Coraline retrieves the hidden black key, unlocks the drawing-room door, and discovers that the brick wall has changed into a cold, dark passageway.
