Summary

Jamie arrives at Port Barren and meets Sergeant Butcher, whose threatening behaviour quickly turns the town’s welcome into a warning. Butcher tells a disturbing story about another troubled boy who vanished, leaving Jamie frightened and unsure whom he can trust.
