Bloodshed

Bloodshed is the play’s most visible sign of inherited hatred: “purple fountains” turn family anger into public damage. As wounds, blades, and “bloody hands” recur, violence spreads from the feud to lovers, friends, and families, making peace arrive only after grief becomes impossible to ignore.
